Holocaust...Or No?

I read an interview yesterday on the Drudge Report that Spiegel Magazine conducted with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (Pres. of Iran) and his take on the Holocaust. He is quoted as saying: "We don't want to confirm or deny the Holocaust... But we do want to know whether this crime actually took place or not."

It is a fact that if you are in Germany and you deny the Holocaust took place you are imprisoned for that and charged with treason. He says: "And if the Holocaust actually occurred, then you should permit impartial groups from the whole world to research this. Why do you restrict the research to a certain group?"

Meaning that because there are some "researchers" in Germany who has said that the Holocaust didn't take place and have been imprisoned for it, then that is evidence enough that the Holocaust can be put into question and therefore hasn't been proven that it did in fact take place.

Now, he doesn't deny that there were millions of people killed in WWII. Or, that most of them were indeed Jews, he just isn't convinced that the Jews were tortured, beaten, shot to death in front of their children and loved ones, starved to death, and kept in concentration camps. He can't seem to wrap his brain around that one.

He also doesn't believe that the children of these ancestors should feel any guilt for what their fathers and fathers, fathers did in WWII. He says: "Precisely that is our point. Why should you feel obliged to the Zionists (meaning ancestors)? If there really had been a Holocaust, Israel ought to be located in Europe and not Palestine."

A-HA!!! We hit the jackpot people! So, Pres. Ahmadinejad doesn't want to claim the Israelis, so he had to convince himself that the Holocaust needed to be "proven" even more so than it already has so he can sleep at night. I get it now! Keep in mind that Iran won't even acknowledge the Israelis as their own people, he lumps them in with the Palestinians.

Anyway, thats part of my $.02 for today.

If Iran keeps producing uranium it should be uninhabitable for about ten thousand years coming up in the near future (either they will blow themselves up or by some misfortunate accident a smart bomb will fall out of the sky from some unknown source and blow the crap out of their new technological breakthrough.)
