I am not a morning person. I have a love affair with my bed. Mike says that I get the perfect look of content on my face as soon as I climb into bed at night. So my work has decided that we all need to get into work at 8am. I think that it was put out as a blanket statement so I wouldn't be singled out. I have to admit that I have been a little lazy getting into work lately, usually around 9:30 or 10:00. Man, typing that out makes it seem so late!
Well, now that this statement has been officially made "We all need to be here at 8am" I have to get my butt out of bed in the morning. Here is the catch. We have a little leeway... we need to be to work "on average" at 8am. This average is spread over the entire pay period. This pay period is two full weeks, started Monday and ends next Friday. Now, I have created a spread sheet that calculates the average times of everyone and am posting it on the "bulletin board" in the office every morning. So far this week I got to work at 8:07 on Monday, 8:45 on Tuesday, 9:15 on Wednesday and 9:07 yesterday. I'm not doing so good. So today I got here at 6:45 to make up some of my average. My average (including my time today) is at 8:23:48.
That means that I either get here at 6:00 on Monday or 7:00 Monday and Tuesday. So, which is worse? Having the "average" time be 8am or just saying that we ''have" to be to work AT 8am? Either way, I think I am screwed. I hate mornings.
It's 7:40 in the AM!
