I can't believe that her first birthday is approaching so rapidly. (its less than a week away)
It went by much too fast.
There are things that I wanted to accomplish before this day came such as:
Fitting into my pre-pregnancy jeans
Thats pretty much it.
I can't believe that I ever fit into them at this point... BOO!

"National" Project
We inherited about 50+ years of National Geographic magazines from Mikey's grandparents. I think that I have talked about them before. They saved everything! Anyway, so we have all of these magazines and thought that we could display them in a Library or someplace cool like that. Well, it turns out that in order to display things like that you need one vital thing...
SPACE
That which we don't have. So, we have decided that instead of keeping these in bins in the garage for the next 5-10 years, or until we get a bigger house, one that preferably has a Library, we are going to just sell them.
On Saturday night we started organizing the magazines. Mikey's aunt did most of the work when they were cleaning out his grandparent's house... so, we just had to pretty much stack them by year. We have all of the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and up to 2005 complete. Then we have 1943, 1948 and 1949 complete as well, with more boxes up at Mikey's parents house that we need to bring here this week to see just how complete this collection really is. Fascinating stuff, eh?

Quite A Day
Things Accomplished Yesterday...
~Woke up at 8:00AM to the sound of Tucy singing and jabbering in her room
~Ate Breakfast
~Started Laundry
~Folded Tucy's clothes and put them away
~Ate a sensible Lunch
~Lost Tucy... Turns out she had crawled into my bedroom... I could hear her, I just couldn't figure out where she was.
~Had an afternoon snack
~Went to the Bank
~Injured Tucy... or rather she injured herself, but I wasn't in the room at the time, so I'm taking the blame.
~Put Tucy to bed at precisely 6:25 in the PM, because she was so worked up over the trauma of the candle holder that sits in front of the fire place falling on her head.
~Watched American Idol as I ate dinner
~Debriefed Mikey on the days events
~Laid out all the washed jeans to dry
~Watched Mikey work on Tucy's Birthday Invitation for about an hour
~Ate a Banana
~Went to bed at 12:20AM
I think that was quite a busy day... not that any of you really care, but I thought I'd document the things that I do during the day. I guess I got a few things accomplished.

Cardboard Cars
The other day I pulled out the last of the diapers in a Costco diaper box. I brought the box in the living room for Tucy to play with and she loved it!
It made me think of one summer when I was about 10. There were a bunch of kids in our neighborhood that I played with that summer. Well, one day we made cars out of cardboard boxes. We colored them and cut doors that swung open and holes for our feet to fit through. We built windshields and the whole nine yards. Then we made mini streets with traffic lights and a stop sign and, and, and...
I loved that summer, it was really fun. Maybe it was because it was the summer after my parents got divorced, and I was trying to fill the fact that my dad didn't live with us anymore with something else so I didn't have to think about. Whatever the reason, it was a good summer and making those cars was really fun... I'll never forget it, I hope.
I can't wait for Tucy to make her first cardcoard car... who knows, it might happen.
