Reasons #3, 2, and #1

Reason #3

Friends

It's always fun to be around friends this time of year. Go shopping, see movies, hang out. Friends are important and I am grateful to have them.

Reason #2

Family

I haven't really had an opportunity to spend much time with my family this Christmas season, but I do understand the importance of family, especially this time of year. It is after all the only thing we can take with us after this life. My family means a great deal to me and I am trying all that I can in my way to try and re-build those relationships that have been tarnished or damaged over the years. It's been difficult, but I am trying and will continue to try until we are all together as a family again.

Reason #1

The Savior

This is the reason we celebrate Christmas in the first place. I was watching A Charlie Brown Christmas last week and I love the part where Charlie asks what Christmas is all about and Linus tells him by quoting Luke 2:9-14...

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Charles Schwartz had some cajones, man! To animate a cartoon where you talk about the true meaning of Christmas and quote scripture. It is a sweet cartoon and it really does capture what Christmas is all about. It's so easy to forget about the true meaning of Christmas. At church on Sunday the choir put on the Christmas program. It was quite an interactive program because the congregation sang as well. We sang a lot of hymns! There were some of the Christmas hymns that we sang that I hadn't ever sung in church before. It was quite a treat to just be able to sing in church, just sing. My Mom, sister and nieces came to church with us on Christmas Eve. It was a nice service and it made me realize that I had been focusing this list of 25 things on some fun things, but maybe I shouldn't focus on just the fun things. Christmas is about family and friends being together and most importantly, the Savior that was born on that day. That is what I am most glad for at Christmas time. I am glad for the presents too, but I am mostly glad for my life and the relationships that I can take with me.

Reason #6, #5 and #4

Reason #6

The Lights at Temple Square

We are planning on going to see the lights at Temple Square on Christmas Eve. Mike has been so busy with work that we haven't had an opportunity to actually go Downtown and experience Christmas in the city. So, seeing the lights on Christmas Eve is our plan... It should be fun.

Reason #5

Freshly Baked Banana Bread

For the last 5 or so years I have baked banana bread for the Christmas Season. This year I have had a hard time finding the motivation to bake. I think that it might be due to my ever expanding mid section. I don't want to add any excess inches to that portion or really any portion of my body... if at all possible. But, I think I might just end up making some baked goodness this weekend. I am feeling motivated right now to bake some, but then again... I am not home or even near an oven and I might feel differently by the time I get home too. Who knows?

Reason #4

Shopping!

Christmas gives you the BEST opportunity to go shopping! Unfortunately, I haven't really taken that opportunity this year. Mike has been super busy with work and I have found it hard to get motivated to go shopping on my own. Dealing with the crowds and everything just exhausts me when I think about it, let alone going out there and actually dealing with it. But, it's crunch time now and I have to deal with it. Mike and I are starting our Christmas shopping either tonight or tomorrow, since it's our last opportunity to get anything before the actual holiday. We'll see how it turns out.

Reason #11, #10, #9, #8 and #7

Reason #11

Three Words... Hot Buttered Rum

Reason #10

Watching It's A Wonderful Life... which I haven't done yet, but I will, oh yes... I will.

Reason #9

My kitties

When they sit under the Christmas Tree, they are Christmas cats and it makes me want to keep the tree up all year round when I see them under there. They don't lay under there at the same time of course, they would kill each other first, but they are cute anyway.

Reason #8

The Marshmellow World that is my front yard this year.

Terri sings Marshmellow World every time she comes over when the lights are one, because she says... "It's a Marshmellow World at the Foxes, when the snow gets to cover the ground..."

Reason #7

Giving change to the Salvation Army

I was at the store earlier and didn't have any change to give. I always feel guilty on some level when I don't put change in the little red hanging thingy... Next time I am going to make sure that I have change so I can toss some in and feel like I am contributing!

Okay... Reason's #18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13 and 12

It has been one week and I haven't posted anything... so here goes.

Reason #18

Snow: We actually saw some of that white stuff a few days ago, but it's all gone now. Please come back before the Big Day!!!

Reason #17

I got to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas on TV with commercials and everything!

Reason #16

My Christmas work party... Free Dinner and this year we get iPods!

Reason #15

I can wear my gold wreath pin with fake diamonds in it and not feel like a fool.

Reason #14

Going to Thanksgiving Pointe and paying $5 to drive through their light display for 10 minutes! This isn't actually something that I am glad for at Christmas time... it's rather an annoyance, but what can you do?

Reason #13

The Primary portion of the Christmas program at Church... those kids are so dang cute!

Reason #12

People that are eager to spend, spend, spend... Where are all the Laurie McCrea's in the world when you need 'em?

Reason's #21, #20 and #19

I figure since I am not doing so well at actually posting every day, I am still going to give 25 reasons... I'll just lump the days that I miss together. That way no one misses out on anything.

Reason #21

Christmas Lights

Reason #20

Christmas Trees

Reason #19

Candy

I don't beleive that any of these reasons need any explination. They are pretty self explanitory.

My List #73

Go to the Symphony

I know that I haven't done much with my list lately, but this last Saturday I did... Mike and I went to the Symphony on Saturday night! We saw the Utah Symphony perform Dvorak's "New World" Symphony. It was incredible! I want to go again and again! I felt like my IQ was raised just a little bit by being there and listening to those movements.
I also decided that the best instrument to play in the symphony is the triangle. I would love to play the triangle. It's an instrument that you learn to play in Kidergarten but is also vital to an Orchestra. I could totally see myself up there ringing the dig-a-ling-a-ling of the triangle.

Reason #23 and #22

I forgot to write what I love about Christmas yesterday, so today I am writing two things.

#23
Eggnog

There isn't another time of year when eggnog is available and I love it so!

#22
Hustle and Bustle

Mike and I were downtown on Saturay night and it made me think of how much I love the hustle and bustle of the season... even though at some point you get so sick and tired of fighting through traffic, etc... I think that it just adds to the entire feel of what Christmas does to people, it makes them CRAZY!

Reason #24

Christmas music!

I love Christmas music because I can only listen to it once a year. Since last year I have been cheating on the time that I actually start listening to Christmas music... it used to be that I would start listening to it the day afterThanksgiving, but ever since last year I have been caught listening to it as soon as the first week in November. One of the guys I work with says that is okay because Thanksgiving doesn't have any of it's own music. I like this reasoning and I think I will stick with it until I don't want to listen to Christmas music that early anymore. Anyway, Christmas music is my reason #24... I am listening to Harry Connick Jr. right now and I am loving it!

Reason #25

The Festival of Trees!

We are going to the Festival of Trees tonight... I love this Festival because it helps me get in the spirit of Christmas and I only have to pay $4 to do it. That, and Mike is always willing to go with me to see them, even though it isn't his favorite thing to do, but he goes anyway.

Decorations from the Heart~

Last year Mike’s family cleared out the house that his Dad, uncle and aunt grew up in. They sold the house to his cousin and her husband. Mike's Grandparents loved the Christmas season and every year they would decorate with ornaments all over the house. His Grandfather would hang small chains across the ceiling and would then hang glass ornaments from the chains. They had all sorts of ornaments that hung in the house. It always looked so festive and inviting, just like his Grandparents were.

Well, when they cleared out the house they divvied up the Christmas ornaments amongst all the grandchildren and Mike and I got a rather large bin filled with these Christmas goodies. So, this year I have decided to decorate our house and Christmas tree in memory of Mike's wonderful Grandparents, using all the decorations that were given to us from his family. I will take a picture of our festive home when I am finished. It won't be until this weekend. Maybe I can kick off my 25 things that I am grateful for with a picture of our tree and such.

Best Dog Ever!

My mom took our dog of 14 years to the Vet yesterday and had her put to sleep. My sister and brother in law came into town last night and we were talking about this. My brother in law said that he figured it out that Tasha (our dog) was about 130 years old. That is OLD!!!

I went over to my mom's yesterday to say my goodbyes to the old gal. She didn't remember who I was and I was her favorite for years. She had had a hard time seeing and hearing the last few years and barely wagged her tail at me. She was pacing the entire time I was there and flinched every time my hand patted her head, because she couldn't see my hand approaching. I was going to go with my mom to the Vet, but decided then wussed out at the last minute.

I wanted to post a picture of her, because she was so cute and sweet, but I am at work and don't have any pictures of her here. If I remember when I get home I will post one. She will be missed, but I believe that she is MUCH happier now that she can frolic in the clouds with all the other dogs.

Tasha was the BEST DOG WE EVER HAD!!!

Thanksgiving is Next Week...

...And I'm gettin' ready! I have been assigned to Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes.. mmm, yummy! I love good eats on Thanksgiving! I love the Thanksgiving Day Parade and I love making breakfast that morning. I always make cinnamon rolls and freshly squeezed orange juice. I love the holidays! I was so excited about the holidays coming that I made the ultimate Christmas CD last night... Now, I know that some of you would say, WHAT?!?!? It's not even Thanksgiving yet. but for some reason this year I just can't wait for the official season to kick off (So, that explains the Santa clock already displayed on your blog). I am so excited about the Holidays this year. Maybe it's because this is the last Christmas that Mike and I will spend with just the two of us... maybe it's because I know that we will have someone else to share this wonderful time of year with and it just makes me elated! All I know is that I am really looking forward to it.

I have also decided that starting December 1st I am going to post once a day with a reason that I love Christmas. It will be like a count down to the BIG DAY!!! I will start with Reason #25 and work my way down to reason #1 on Christmas Day*** We'll see how long it will last. You never know, I might get bored with it on day 6 and decide to not continue. If that happens I will let you know. But, keep posted and you should find out the 25 reasons I love Christmas and it's not even Thanksgiving yet! I know, I am SUCH a nerd... but, what can you do? Christmas makes me happy, HAPPY!!

San Diego Pics!

Here are some pictures of our trip to San Diego... enjoy! I hope that you can make heads or tails of them. The trip was great fun! We saw lots of stuff, but weren't there nearly long enough. I hope we can go back some day.

Don't forget to VOTE!!!

Today is the day...

I got a call yesterday from a man reminding me to vote for Orrin Hatch, Mark Walker, Chris Cannon... basically all the republicans in Ootah. The reason I remembered this call above all the other calls I have received over the last several weeks is because:

1) He was an actual living breathing person and not a recording
b) I could tell he was nervous
z) He had the hiccups

I haven't voted yet, but am going to on my way into work... Are you voting today?

Update: I voted! The electronic ballot is quite simple to use. Go vote, you won't regret it!

Leavin' on a Jet Plane!

Mike and I are leaving tonight to go down to San Diego for the weekend!

I am so excited! I will give a full report when we return, but until then...

Have a good weekend everybody!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
I just saw this cartoon this evening, had to blog about it because it is what I should have been for Halloween! If I had only been smart enough to think of it!

Pandora and her Music Box~

Today while I was at work I needed to do some filing. I hate, HATE to file, more than anything. When I got to work I pulled out my iPod to listen to and then quickly remembered that it was blank... no music, zip, zilch, nada... no music at all! I went over to one of the fella's that I work with and asked him very politely if he had some music on his iTunes and if so, if he would be so kind to put some on my iPod so I could have something to listen to while I did the most tedious of jobs, ever! Well, be both realized that he didn't have the proper cable and neither did I, so there was no way for my iPod to connect to his computer. bummer.

Before I walked away from his desk, he told me about this website called Pandora. He explained that it is a kind of online radio where you type in either an artist or a song that you really like and it makes a play list surrounding that artist or song. If a song comes on that you don't like you can tell it that you do not like the song and it will continue to refine that search until it creates the perfect play list... just for you! The coolest feature about this is that you don't have to download anything in order for it to run. You input your name, password, birth year and whether you are male or female, other than that there is nothing that is loaded on your computer or anything! That is a big feature for me, anyway.

So, to start out my search I typed in Ella Fitzgerald and it played Ella, Rosemary Clooney, Sarah Vaughn, June Christy, Dinah Washington and Nancy Wilson... just to name a few. I played that play list all day! There were some songs that I didn't care for and told it not to play that type of music anymore. I am listening to it right now and it is playing the perfect mix. I think that everyone should check this site out. It is superb Internet radio, if I don't say so myself... Check it out!

Hallows Eve!

Halloween is just days away...

I think I might be a Cheetah for the big day!

I need to put together the costume on Friday and Satruday and have Terri come over to put on the Cheetah makeup! I am trying to talk Mike into it too, but I don't think he is too keen on the idea! We'll see though, I might be able to sway him.

Yay for Halloween!

I really want to watch Young Frankenstein this weekend. What a hoot of a movie! I saw a trailer for Saw 3 last night on telelvision and thought to myself... I am so over scary movies. I have no desire to see that movie this year. Although, I have decided that there is a distinct difference between Devil movies and Monster movies. I will never see a Devil movie again. I probably will see a Monster movie though, just not this year.

Costume Dilema...

So, I have a couple Halloween parties that I have been invited to. One is tonight over at Chuck's and the other is next Saturday at my friend Carl's house.

I have kind of vowed that I wouldn't dress up this year, but now I think that everyone will look at me like a lame-o if I don't... so, what should I do?

I don't have much as far as costumes go, I would have to make something, but what?

And the wall comes tumbling down...

This last weekend Mike and my brother Aaron tore out the bar in our basement. We are going to use this space for our office area once the kid gets here... so we thought we would start getting ready for it now instead of after the blessed day comes.

Anyway, I got a little picture happy and decided to post my documentation of the wall (or in this case, bar) tumbling down.

I came in with the camera after they already had a good start.

The look from behind the bar after the guts were taken out.

Mike is taking out some pent up aggression. He said though that you didn't have to swing that sledge hammer very hard to make the brick crumble.

The side wall is down and being taken out to the side of the house.

Mike and Aaron both had a turn at the front of the wall.

It came down just as easily as the side did.

Hans and Frans... We're here to PUMP You UP!

Vioala! Just like that and it's cleared out. It took the boys about 2 hours total to take down the entire bar and bring everything outside to be thrown away. Not bad for a Saturday afternoon, if I don't say so myself.

Friday the 13th...

It's Friday the 13th in OCTOBER!!!

This is an extra spooky Friday the 13th, for sure!

My pumpkin caught on fire today... because it's Friday the 13th!

Uncharted Territory

As of today I have been pregnant for the longest amount of time, ever! 15 weeks and 5 days... Here is an ultrasound picture...I know that most of you don't care to see a fuzzy black and white picture of what is supposed to be a baby, but I don't care! This ultrasound picture is from a few weeks ago, but you still get the gist of what is there. It's a baby. YAHOO! I am now going to experience things that I haven't ever experienced before and I am so excited!

Dancing Through Life...

I am hooked to Dancing with the Stars... I have to watch it every Tuesday night.

I am totally pulling for Jerry Springer to take it all! I know... who would want Jerry Springer to win?!?!?

I would. He is hilarious!

Whooda thunk that Jerry Springer would be all the buzz?

It also helps that his partner is this hot, leggy dancer! She is great! She really helps him ham it up... and... she's a Brit to boot. Go Figure!

Countdown To Trouble!

I have added a new counter that is counting down my days, hours, minutes and seconds to Motherhood...

Now you too can come along for the ride while I countdown to when I get no sleep, privacy or alone time... ever again!

No more for me Ppplease!

It's October and this usually means that it's time for me to break out the scary movies! Well, I think last year made it impossible for me to enjoy scary movies this year. There was a whole list of movies that we watched last year throughout the month of October... I can't even remember all the movies.

All I remember is that we ended with The Exorcist.

Holy CRAP!!!! That is the scariest movie I have ever watched or will ever watch in my life! I literally had nightmares for two weeks after seeing this movie. It is THAT scary!

After that jaunt with watching as many scary movies as I could get my grubby little fingees on last year and after putting myself through watching the ultimate in scary movies... I can honestly say that I am through watching scary movies!

So everyone... have fun enjoying a good scare this month... I however, am opting out.

It's Premiere Time!

Battlestar Galactica premieres this Friday at 7pm on the SciFi Channel! They are playing the first two episodes that night.

Aaron and Kenny are coming over and I am making potato soup, yummy!

I can't wait to see what this season has in store for us... Anyone have predictions?

Cali...Forn-I-A

Mike and I are going to take a MUCH needed vacation down to San Diego the first weekend in November. We are flying down, staying at a beach-side resort and going to Sea World... all of which I have NEVER done before!!! I am SOOOOO excited!Mike keeps texting me today and saying, Hi San Diego!

It is going to be so much fun, I can't wait!

Do You Know The United States?

I got this little quiz for third graders from an old friend of mine via email. It is a quiz to see if you know where all the 48 States should be placed on the map in the alloted time (which is I think about 3 minutes).

Now, I tried this quiz and FAILED!!!

I got 28 out of 48. How pathetic am I!?!?

United States Quiz

Take the quiz and let me know how you did. You most likely will do better than I did.

I Am A Forum Whore!

Have you ever been a member of a Forum or Website and then stopped participating in it? I was a member of a Forum for about a year and after some time I decided that I didn't want to participate in it anymore... So, I contacted the administrator and asked to be removed from the Forum. Just today I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone had brought me up on this Forum since I left... so I did a search for my call sign. Low and behold they had inquired about me back in June... they had a full on conversation speculating about why I had pulled the plug. I pulled the plug about 6 months prior mind you.

I thought this was funny. That is the first time I have visited that website in, well I can't remember the last time I visited it. But, anyway... I find it interesting that people were trying to put reasons in that "fill in the blank" space that they didn't understand. And even the ones that DID know why, played dumb like they didn't. The true reason I stopped going to that Forum is because after obsessing over it for a while (and I mean obsessing), I realized something... I am a Forum Whore! I would get so wrapped up in the Forum that I wouldn't really work during the day. I kept checking to see if anyone had responded to my brilliant comments that I had left! I would argue, make jokes, pontificate and go on with these people that I didn't know! I would basically waste tons of time during the day when I could be doing much more productive things. I forgot about that whole being accountable for the time that I spend and what I do with that time!

When I finally realized this, the first thing I did was contact the administrator and I politely asked to be removed from the Forum... Everything... my call sign, my picture, my everything! But, before that... I went into as many posts as I could and deleted what I had written (probably a bit overly dramatic, but I did it nonetheless). I was DONE with Forums (and still am, except the Battlestar Galactica one, which doesn't really count I think, and I don't visit it very much at all). Then I discovered the BLOG. This format suited me so much better than the Forum did. I could log on, post my thoughts, get comments... but, I didn't feel like a whore doing it and I don't waste nearly as much time either! yay Blogs!

THE BIG ONE!

Okay, so I guess it won't hurt to make the BIG announcement now.

I do indeed have a bun in the oven... aka... preg-o, aka... with child, aka... Katie Holmes

I am sure most of you that didn't know were thinking to yourselves... well, maybe... well, I don't know... her posts have been a little cryptic lately, but I still don't know for sure.

Well, now you do!

I am due March 31st and have been sewn shut so the baby doesn't fall out this time, like it has in the past.

We are hoping and praying that this one will stick this time around. Otherwise, I guess its back to the drawing board.

That is why I have missed so much work and been so sick for so long. I am sure now everyone is like OOOOHHH!!! Well, now that makes perfect sense!

Yes, yes it does.

a BIG Thanks to All!

As some of you are aware... last week I had some surgery. Everything is fine and I am recovering splendidly! I just wanted to give a big THANKS to those of you that came and sat with me, made me dinner, cleaned our house, sent me cards and brought me presents (feel free to bring more any time).

Last week I think I watched about 15 movies and all of the first season of Battlestar Galactica... again. Mike set up a little tv and dvd player in our room and I just layed in there and watched, watched, watched. Yesterday I finally decided that I needed a change of scenery and moved to the couch in the livingroom.

I am supposed to go back to work today, but am not feeling that great about it. I don't know if it is just me being lazy or if I really need one more day. I am going to go anyway, but am a little hesitant. Anyway, we will see how I feel later on today. I might leave early depending...

But, I do need to give a HUGE thank you to all of you that came and helped me last week. THANKS!

9/11 Remembered

I was driving to Realms the morning that I heard Jimmy Chunga on the radio (of all people) notify me that a plane had hit one of the two towers in NYC. That was five years ago today. That day was so surreal, I couldn't watch anything on television until later that afternoon. After that I was glued to the t.v. as I am sure everyone was. How the world has changed because of that day and how it is continuing to change.

It's September 11th... and I remembered. Hopefully I won't ever forget.

I wonder where you were when you heard... What was your reaction? Mine was utter SHOCK!

Labor Day Joy!

Since I haven't written about anything this week, this is like the topper for me. enjoy!

Mike and I went out to the Salt Flats on Labor Day and shot some photos of me...
Here is the first one that I am posting up.

I might feel like posting up more later, but not now.

Fall is in the Air

It's the 1st of September and I can feel the Fall in the air. With all the kids being back in school and the nights getting a little cooler, it makes me want to break out all my fall sweaters. I love when the seasons change.
It's the start of a new or the beginning cycle of something new. The leaves changing then falling off the trees. All the beautiful colors of Fall. I love Fall and have been looking forward to it for about a month now. So, Happy September the 1st!

Dreamy Sleepy

So I have been having some majorly weird dreams lately. This dream was with me, Mike, Chuck, Justin, and some girl named Kate that I haven't ever even seen before in my life. We were all going down to Southern Utah to do a canyon and when we got there I realized that my pack with all my gear hadn't been included in the gear that was brought down. So, I opted to not go down the canyon. Mike was in complete agreement, wanting me to be safe rather than go and risk the possibly getting hurt. There were a few other guys that were parked just off from where we were that were going to be going down this canyon as well. None of us thought anything of it. They all left to go on their trip and I stayed behind.

The next thing I remember is that Ethan was there with me and we had somehow figured out that the men that went down the canyon before Mike and the others were bad men and had done some bad things. They were driving lots of white SUVs, like a 4-runner, H2 among other cars. Something went wrong with the 4-runner that they were driving and they needed another 4-runner. Well, it just so happens that we had brought down our 4-runner and I had the key in my pocket. Ethan and I had figured out that these bad guys knew that I had said key in my pocket and wanted to get it from me so that they could take our car.

All of the sudden Ethan and I were running from these bad guys and we ended up on a stage. Us both being theater people know our way around a theater and we decided that we could out smart the bad guys on our turf. So we were running on the catwalks above the stage, back behind the stage, in the costume department, all over the theater... And then I woke up. Weirdest dream ever! Then I had another dream last night where Ethan and I were fighting crime, but I can't remember the details of that one. Odd that I am now a crime fighter in my dreams that that Ethan is my sidekick! Go figure!

Easy Parody...

Last night Mike and I watched "Easy Rider". I hadn't ever seen this film before and realized right out of the gate that it was parodied in "Starsky and Hutch"... Here is the comparison.

Easy Rider

Starsky and Hutch
I laughed for the first 10 minutes of the movie, because I kept seeing Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson instead of Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper.

Very Funny!

Online Movie Ordering

Mike and I are going to be trying out Blockbuster online for the next 30 days. I went into the account this morning and saw that he has already placed 65 movies in the queue. He said that I could go in and pick whichever movies I wanted to add to and re-arrange the list however I would like. But, how are we supposed to watch 65 movies in 30 days? We were planning on doing a shoot out between Blockbuster and Netflix. Try Blockbuster for 30 days then try Netflix and see which one we like better. So, why would I add more to the list of 65 when we are just going to be canceling it in 30 days anyway to try out Netflix? My next question here is... who is subscribing to either of these and which do you prefer? Mike talked to Ethan about it and he is a big supporter of Netflix. I talked to Traci (my sister) yesterday and she said that she and Jim subscribe to Blockbuster... But, which is better? This might be a rhetorical rather than actual question, depending on how many people add their comments.

Battlestar is back Again!

We got this issue of SciFi trade magazine yesterday and what was the first thing I did???... I read the article about season 3 of Battlestar, of course!

The article doesn't spoil anything really for the new season. It gives you a little glimpse about where they are going, but doesn't give too much away. It does say that there will be some characters that we all know and love that will be killed. I hope that they handle it much in the same way that Six Feet Under did when they killed off Nate. That was such a shock! Everyone hoped that they wouldn't do it, but once it happened we weren't all that surprised.

I hope that they kill off someone that will be that bitter sweet! I am not going to say anything more about the article itself because I know that some of you (Shav) haven't seen all of season 2 yet. I will say though that the article got me PUMPED for the new season, which premieres in October.

Real Pirates... sort of

The Pirates of Penzance has been playing on HBO this month. I have watched it all the way through only once. I love this musical! Its a musical that my entire family enjoyed together when we were but youth's...

I always wanted to be Mabel (played by Linda Ronstadt) she was so beautiful and had such a high soprano voice. Now that I watched it again I don't think that I would want to be Mabel, I would be much more happy being one of the sisters.

Kevin Kline though, is the BEST pirate king anyone could ask for. He is perfectly cast. His performace is outstanding. I just love this show. It brings back a flood of memories and makes me wanna be a kid again gathered around our television watching this as a family.

working / routine

I used to have some what of a routine. I would get up in the morning, take a shower, get ready, go to work, come home, make dinner, read or watch tv, go to bed and repeat. My routine has been shot to H-E-double hockey sticks! How do I get a routine back again? It is so hard for me to get anything done. My house is a shambles most of the time lately and Mike has been sweet enough to do most of the house work, but he is really busy too.

I haven't ever been a real routine type of person. But, this is just ridiculous! I swear that I am going to get fired from my job. I can't seem to get here before 10am and thats on the days that I make it in anymore. I have been missing at least 1 day of work each week. I don't have the sick leave or vacation to cover the time that I have been gone. But, what can you do? I can't help that I can barely move some days. People don't seem to understand at my work, but I have been trying to do my best when I am here to make up for it.

I don't know if it is helping. I have a hard time concentrating and I can't remember anything for the life of me lately. I don't know how people do this! I just read a note on my boss' time sheet that he is concerned with the mistakes that I keep making. The reason I read it is because I am in charge of everyone's time sheets and print them off every pay period. I read all of them, including his. So, I wasn't snooping, it's part of my job.

Anyway, the wo's of me! My life... who wants it?

I have nothing to say...

Just don't forget that I am here and will have something to talk about sooner or later.

Cheers!

A little bit about Nothing!

I guess Monday's are my day to update you all on the events that go on in my life. Lets see here... My sister is getting back surgery some time this week... OUCH! Mike's business is rolling along. I rented some movies this last week and watched them, well most of them. I watched The Inside Man with my brother Aaron and I watched Brick with Michael. I also rented V for Vendetta, but fell asleep in the first 20 minutes. I need to re-watch it.

Let's see here, I go back to the Dr. tomorrow and they will give me more information on my status then. Can't say much until I talk to them again, but I will say that all has been going fine with me, except I have been sicker than a dog! I want this sickness to just GO AWAY!!! I am tired of it! I watched all 6 parts of the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice with Shauna on Friday. That was SWEET! I love that series, I could watch it over and over and never get tired of it.

Aaron and Kami came over on Saturday with their kids and they swam in the pool. Those kids are the cutest in the whole world! I went to church yesterday and made it through all 3 meetings, yay me! I was thoroughly exhausted afterward and took a nap for an hour when I got back home. Other than these few tid-bits nothing really has been happening. I am writing about nothing, because I don't really have anything of significance to say right now, so, this is all that you get.

Oh, and Traci... please don't think that I forgot about you! I did get your message but have been under the over the weather so much that I wasn't feeling that splendiferous to call you back! I did think about you and am planning on calling you today! Thanks for calling and checking up on me, btw.

Groomers... Beware

We got our cat a hair cut last week. Bebe Cat is a long haired, black, prissy little thing that hates just about everyone (except Mike and me). We take her in about once a year to have this blessed event take place, and in order for her to have her hair cut she needs to be tranquilized. The groomers refuse to work with her any other way. We brought her to one groomer and she did fine until the groomer went around to her underside. The cat bit through the muzzle she had on and beat the CRAP out of the poor groomer hands and fore arms. Needless to say, we never brought her back to that groomer again, for obvious reasons.

When we took her into the vet the following year to get the tranq's, there was a lady that was working behind the desk that insisted she could groom fair Bebe cat without a tranq. We thought, why not try it? This woman claims to be "the cat whisperer" so we tried her out. Same story, different location. Only this time, the cat bit the groomer so hard, she broke the skin. So much for her claim of being able to tame any cat.

Next year, we took her to the groomer that is just down the street from our house and that groomer, being a smart one agreed with us when we insisted on having Bebe tranq'ed that it was best for all. I wasn't the one that picked up the cat, Mike was, but he told me that it was a sight to see, having her come out of that intoxicated state. I thought that it was funny when he told me the she fell off the bed, but didn't quite understand the gravity of the humor until last week when I went and picked her up for this year’s hair cut.

I brought her home and opened the cage... she stumbled out of the cage and wandered around the house, walking sideways mostly. I went into the living room and sat down on the couch. She stumbled over to me and put her front paws up on the couch. She tried to have her back paws follow, but ended up falling completely backwards and landing flat on her back with all four paws up in the air. She just sat there with all of her paws towards the ceiling, meowing at me to please, please help her! I was laughing so hard I could hardly lift her up. It took her until the next morning to return to normal. And now she has a perfect lions cut with hip boots, the lions mane and the little poof at the end of the tail... just like a lion.

Plop, Plop, Fizz, Fizz...

I have been trying all that I can to not feel sick... Mike went and bought me some Pepto (I know, gross) this morning and it actually made me feel worse. I have been trying to just chuck my cookies to see if I can feel better after that, but that didn't even work. I sat with my head voluntarily over the toilet for about 3 minutes and... nothing. I just downed some alka-seltzer about 5 minutes ago and hope that that either bubbles the sickness over the top, or calms my little tummy down once and for all. We'll have to wait and see.

Tele-Fono

Have you ever thought of what an incredible invention the telephone is? Could you imagine not having phones? I couldn't, I would be completely handicapped if I didn't have my cell phone with me every second of every day. I am glad for modern inventions and I am glad that I am fortunate enough to live in this time where I can enjoy them.

I talked to my sister on the phone last night for 106:34 minutes. Right before we hung up I asked how long she thought that we had been talking... she looked on her phone and it said 49:00 min, but when I hung up the time on my phone said 106:34 min.
Oh, how time flies talking about nothing to your sister. It made me realize that I don't sit and gab with my sisters nearly enough. Don't get me wrong, we are all talkers and all love hear ourselves talk. But, I don't remember the last time I talked to any of my sisters on the phone for longer than 15 minutes.

It was nice... I am sure that part of the reason is because her husband is out of town and my husband was at work late. If either of them had been home, I doubt the conversation would have been that long. Anyway, I don't know why I thought to post about this, other than I didn't have anything else to post about, so why not?

It's the WEEKDEND!!!

Anyone got big plans?

Mike and I are meeting my brother and his wife down in Manti, UT tomorrow morning. Then we will be going into Ephraim to eat at Fat Jack's Pizzeria... ummm, yummy!

On Sunday, Mike's family is coming over for dinner and that is about it...

Oh, and Terri is going to come over tonight to hang out with me and maybe trim my hair.

Fun, fun, fun... I hope I feel okay this weekend, lots to do, so I better not feel lousy!

Swimming Fun, Fun, Fun...

Mike and I have been talking about getting a swimming pool in our back yard, as many of you already know. Well I couldn't wait for the digging and filling and everything else that goes into installing a pool (besides the cost). So, I went to Wally World and bought an inflatable pool to tide us over until we can have a permanent one put in.

Traci and I started setting the pool up late Sunday night. It took us "less than 15 minutes" to set up! I didn't start to really fill it until Monday morning at about 9am. It took about 3 and a half hours to fill completely. The pool is about 12 ft wide and 3 ft deep. Its more like a wading pool rather than a swimming pool, but it is fun to play in nonetheless. Terri and Aaron (my sister and brother) came over with their kids and we all played in the pool. It wasn't quite as hot on Monday as it had been earlier in the week and the water was co-old!

We just waited until our legs were numb and then it didn't bother us anymore. The good thing about this pool is that you can keep it up or take it down, whenever you feel the need to swim. I think we probably will take it down and then put it back up before we have our next party. Should be lots of fun though! I love swimming and I especially love to cool off on HOT, hot days in July!

I no feel Good!

So, I threw up today! YAY!!! I love to feel this way! It's awesome!

Will I ever feel better, it's doubtful.

But, this is a bright side... I can drink Ginger Ale all I want!

Soccer Anyone?

I went to my very first ReAL Soccer game on Saturday night. We have a friend (Logan) who works for the team and he hooked us up with some sweet tickets! So, I have to say that I did indeed get bit by the REaL bug on Saturday. It was exciting, even though I know absolutely nothing about soccer, to sit there and watch the game. Very Exciting!

We were about 20 rows up on the west side of the field. They were good seats. Mike went down to the front row for the last 15 minutes of the game with Ethan and watched from there. I have to say... Soccer is really fun to watch! Much like playing a round of golf, it's fun to do or watch live, but I still wouldn't ever watch it on telelvision.

So, Logan is going to hook me up with a jersey and we just might go the the Madrid ReAL game too. We are thinking about it. I don't care if David Beckham plays or not... I wanna see Posh Spice!

Feed A Cow~

So, I was driving home yesterday and it was raining (first time it has rained on my birthday in I can't remember how long) anyway, there was a car in front of me that had a sticker on their bumper that looked like this...

I was staring at this sticker thinking to myself... Well, that is a pink cancer ribbon sticker, but WHY does it say Feed A Cow? Feed A Cow.. Feed A Cow...Feed A Cow... OHHHHH...

It say's Find A Cure!!!

Man Oh Man do I need glasses!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!

Is it dumb that I am putting up a post about it being my birthday today? The truth is that I couldn't think of anything else to write about and then I thought... how lame would that be that I don't post anything on my Birthday?!?!? So, I am posting this, because I say Happy Birthday to everyone else (well, except Traci, my sister), so why not ME?!?!

You may all wish me a Happy Birthday now! Everyone except Terri and Aaron and Traci and Mikey and Traci H. and, and, and...

You get it... HAPPY HAPPY to ME!

Oh, and Traci and Emily, you are right... 28 isn't such a lonely age afterall... I had to experience it for myself to know for sure though.

Those toenails are so pretty!

So, I don't think that I am cut out for aunt-hood, let alone parenthood. I watched my brother’s kids tonight and I think I am in official trouble. Here's what we did...

Ate Pizza
Watched Cinderella
Sang Karaoke
Crawled around on the floor like tigers
Lit off a fire work (that I didn't know was a flyer... it was given to me, and incidentally flew in the air scaring the CRAP out of my little niece who is so adorable and fragile) This is us, right before that firework went off... notice the look on my face and the baby that I am holding is crying.

Oh, it just gets better, people.

Played the piano
...And this is the part that will get me ousted from being the Aunt that watches ANY of the neices and nephews anymore...

Painted my nephew’s toenails and fingernails... toenails were blue and fingernails were red.

He asked me to do it... I said yes, I painted them I take the blame!

You have to know these kids, they are the most adorable things you have ever seen (and I am not just saying that because we are related) they are sooooo incredibly cute. And, because they are so cute, it's very difficult to say no to them. He asked me holding the nail polish in his hand... "Aunt Sawah... will you put this color on my toes?" C'mon, people! How could I resist...? And its just NAIL polish!!! It isn't like I put permanent eyeliner on him.

Anyway, I am sure that my brother is going to call me in the morning and share some words with me about this... we'll see if I get asked to watch the kids again. I had fun anyway...

Post #...100, how 'bout that!

This is monumental! This is my 100th post!

I can't believe I have posted about nothing 100 times! It's craziness!

Speaking of nothing, Mike and I went on a walk around our neighborhood last night about 7:30 or so and I was so blisteringly hot! I was sweating every time we stopped! It was embarrassing talking with our different neighbors and having my to wipe my forehead or cheeks every couple of minutes, because it was obvious that I was sweating. I don't know why on earth I was so incredibly hot! Probably had something to do with me taking a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. I woke up and felt hot, then we went on our walk and I just got more hot. When we got back home I had to take a cold shower to cool myself off and at that moment I told Mike... THAT's it! We are getting a pool! It would have been so nice to just jump in the pool instead of take a shower. I doubt that we will actually get a pool, but the idea is divine!

Anyway, 100 posts about nothing... RIGHT ON!!!
